Reading an AI answer is easy; thinking with it is the hard part. Assay lets you tap the passages that matter while you read, annotate them in a few words, and send them back as one deep-dive prompt. Your selection is the signal — no boilerplate, no copy-paste, no API key, and nothing ever leaves your device.
Tap a word in any reply. Tap the highlight again to widen it — sentence, then paragraph. Tap other words in the same reply to grow the selection toward them, across paragraphs.
＋ Add collects it. ✎ Note attaches a few words — before or after the quote — now or later. Each fragment keeps its own highlight color on the page.
The Deep dive tray holds everything you collected, per conversation, while the chat stays scrollable behind it.
↗ To composer writes just your fragments and notes into the message box. Review, send. Or download the whole conversation as Markdown or text, fragments included.
No account. No server. No analytics. No API keys — your existing ChatGPT or Claude subscription does all the inference.
Fragments live in your browser’s local storage, per conversation. The only thing that ever leaves your device is the message you choose to send. The code is open source under MIT, so you can check.
